Best Practices Solopipe

Solopipe ships empty, so please be sure to fill it with high-quality butane — this is critical to performance. Low-grade butane can clog or damage the ignition system and lead to inconsistent flame issues.

We strongly recommend avoiding Zippo butane, as it is not refined enough for optimal use with Solopipe.

Instead, choose at least 5× refined butane. Here are two reliable and affordable options:

•  Vector 14× Refined Butane – 320 mL Single Can 
  Ultra-refined and cold-filtered — ideal for Solopipe. 
•  Newport Zero Extra Purified Butane – 300 mL Single Can 
  Extra-purified and includes adapter tips for easy filling.

 Solopipe Quick Start Guide

1. Filling with Butane
• Push the refill nozzle firmly into the Solopipe’s valve — it should fit snugly with no leaking.
• Fill using short 2-second bursts, repeating 5–6 times.
• Gently shake to help distribute the gas through the internal tubing.
2. Let It Rest
• Allow the Solopipe to sit for 90 seconds before attempting to ignite. This gives the gas time to stabilize and air bubbles to settle.
3. Adjust the Flame
• Turn the flame size dial all the way to the right (–) to shut it off completely.
• Slowly turn it to the left (+), increasing to your preferred flame size (no more than 1 inch / 1.5 cm).
• Flame size may vary slightly depending on altitude and outside temperature, so feel free to adjust as needed.

 Still Not Lighting?

To help us troubleshoot, please let us know:

• What brand of butane are you using?
• Can you ignite the bowl using a separate flame source?
  This helps confirm whether gas is flowing properly.
